Grape: Alicante Bouschet 100%
Yearly production: 10000 bottles.
Colour: Ruby red.
Aroma: Very intense and fresh with notes of red fruit and black pepper.
Taste: Medium body with soft tannins and a very pleasant finish.
Behind the label: Born in the Languedoc in 1855, Alicante Bouschet made many local winemakers’ fortunes. It was used to color local and foreign bad wines…rendering it undesirable.
Yet, trained in traditional goblet on the right terroir, it gives lovely fruit aromas with a hint of spices.
Producer: Olivier Coste, read the winemaker interview here.
