Barolo D.O.C.G. Cerequio - Giacomo Marengo - ITALY
Grape: Nebbiolo 100%.
Yearly production: 1000 bottles.
Colour: Deep garnet red.
Aroma: Very complex. Intense and earthy with the scent of berries, liquorice, vanilla, dried violet, and cigar box.
Taste: Very well balanced, full-body, complex with very long persistence. Refined and pleasurable tannings.
Behind the label: Cerequio is the Cru's name, one of the most renowned in La Morra's commune.
Producer: Marengo's family origin lies in Piedmont from the father's side, which comes from La Morra's commune, producing Barolo for more than a century.
The wines are produced through a collaboration between owner Emilio Marengo with his friend Roberto Voerzio, who keeps aside a small space for him in his incredible cellar.
Production levels sit at an average of fewer than 500 grams per vine, which means an outstanding quality with flavour and taste concentrations.
