Riesling “Ried Kalvarienberg” - Neiderösterreich - Weingut Buchmayer - AUSTRIA
Grape: Riesling 100%.
ABV: 12.5%.
Yearly production: 3500 bottles.
Farming: Organic.
Colour: Golden yellow.
Aroma: Fruity with an elegant bouquet of stone fruit, flowers, and a mineral character.
Taste: Dry, light-bodied with refreshing good acidity, and savoury finish.
Behind the label: The label is a modern version of the Weinviertel landscape. The wavy lines represent the rows of vines on the slopes. The vineyard where the riesling grows is on the slopes of Kalvarienberg. At the top of the hill, there is a group of sandstone figures depicting the crucifixion of Jesus. These statues were erected out of gratitude in the Middle Ages because the plague time was over.
